BAPE celebrates its past relationship with legendary photographer and artist Shawn Mortensen by re-releasing photo T-shirts featuring his signature work.
The photoshoot for Biggie Smalls, aka The Notorious BIG, took place at Good Luck Bar in the Los Feliz district of Los Angeles. During the shoot, which was held to wish him well on his new album, Biggie took a liking to a BAPE camo jacket that Shawn was wearing and draped it over his shoulders. The photo would later become an iconic in BAPE history.
This photoshoot took place just two days before his death and turned out to be his final portrait, capturing a defining moment in time at the intersection of art and hip-hop.
