Latest Update On US Tariffs
Only applicable to US based orders. Other countries unaffected.
Following the announcements made by U.S. President Donald Trump last week, The White House has issued updates on how the new U.S. tariffs will impact our store and shipments from Japan in general.
Currently, orders with a total value below USD $800 are not subject to tariffs because they still qualify for the “De Minimis” exemption.
Orders over USD $800 may be subject to the new tariffs, depending on how U.S. customs processes the shipment. To avoid this, we recommend splitting up large orders into smaller shipments with total values under $800 whenever possible. Please note that all import fees are the responsibility of the customer.
Starting May 2nd, the U.S. will remove the “De Minimis” duty free exemption from China and Hong Kong, which will apply to all products regardless of value. It is still unclear whether the rule will also apply to products that are made in China but shipped from other countries, like Japan, but we are currently under the impression that it will.
