In October 2023, a limited gallery to commemorate the groundbreaking animated film "AKIRA" (1988)", was held in Osaka. The exhibition featured over 650 Katsuhiro Otomo's original celluloid drawings and handwritten layouts. A range of limited edition merchandise was released alongside the gallery, including tees, posters and replica cel paper folders.
