To make No. 9 Century Denim, Yeddo Hawthorn Tree bark is boiled extensively to create a deep brown dye. Once the denim is extensively dyed, it is mixed with an acidic hydrated lime to create a mahogany base before the final mud dyeing procedure. The final step is to dip the denim into a mud pit, resulting in a change to a smoky greyish black coloration. The Sashiko Yarn hand spun in Hiroshima follows the same process but is left out of the mud dye. The contrasting mahogany yarn is woven through the denim material. 

 

Living up to its name, Century Denim is extremely durable and is built to last a lifetime, becoming personalized as it ages and fades.
