13.5oz Rigid Denim woven with mud-dyed yarn, a traditional process that originated on Amami Oshima Island.
A combination of Yeddo Hawthorn Tree bark and hydrated lime creates a mahogany base. The final step is to dip the yarn into a mud pit, resulting in a chemical reaction that changes the yarn to a smoky greyish black coloration. Over time, faded mahogany sashiko threads that skipped the final mud dyeing step contrast with the fully mud dyed denim, creating a personalized aging effect. Living up to its name, Century Denim is extremely durable, built to last a lifetime.
