Bape Dip Dye Beethoven Tee
It’s no secret that Bape founder, Nigo, is a massive fan of vintage clothing. From the start of his career, Nigo has been carefully incorporating influences of American vintage apparel from the early to mid 20th century into his work at Bape and more recently, Human Made. Late last Summer at Bunka Fashion College, his alma mater, Nigo displayed some of the most significant pieces in his massive archive. A collection that he’s been building for nearly his entire life.
One of the most prominent collections of items on display at that exhibit, in addition to all the denim, sukajan and peanuts merchandise, were vintage pieces depicting the bust of legendary composer, Beethoven. Nigo’s references to vintage Beethoven pieces in his work dates back over 20 years when he first started printing them on dip dyed t-shirts in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. This is one of those pieces.
Available in size XL, this Bape Beethoven tee is a pink hand dip dyed design on a white base. A black graphic depicting the composer and his name on the front remains in pristine condition. While there are some minor blemishes on the piece, as a whole it has been very well preserved.
